Last week I was lucky enough to go on a weekend getaway with Paul to the beautiful french country side, to go wine tasting. We explored the Burgundy region, visiting various vineyards and a few fabulous châteaus. This is such a romantic trip to take I would definitely recommend for couples to try it out.
We walked around the beautiful town, which was full of so much history. It is also the home of Burgundy & Chablis, there was so much wine!
We visited various vineyards in the area learning all about the Pinot Noir grape, and how you can only produce this grape in very specific climates. Thanks to our lovely host Simon from @heritourvoyagefr , we learned a lot about the region and its differnt wines.
The scenery and landscape was absolutely stunning, a very picturesque scene. Some of these images are from the grounds of @hostellerie_de_levernois where we had a rather delicious lunch with a perfect wine pairing.
Whilst in Beaune I was lucky enough to meet some amazing wine producers, I love all their stories, some family run, handed down & evolving through the generations like @capitaingagnerot and some that were spiritually called to the land like Pascal Marchand, the Rock star/poet of winemaking @marchand_tawse (a film has been made about his journey called Grand Cru) We were taken by brilliant Simon from @heritourvoyagefr who was a fun & very interesting guide. Now I need to develop some patience as some of the wines we bought need 5-10 years to mature, thankfully we also purchased some ready now.
